Ontario Science Centre, closed...for now.

An abrupt closure of the Ontario Science Centre (OSC) due to concerns that the roof may not be able to withstand the snowfall this summer and put attendees at risk. The structural engineering reports that the current provincial government based their decision off of, can be found here. Consequently, the OSC faces early closure. The building was in fact meant to last centuries. At least for the next Canadian Centennial, as it is a Centennial building. Meaning, during Canada\'s 100th anniversary, the Canadian government allotted each province funds to create a building of lasting and international significance. Ontario picked a science centre, with the initial budget at five million and closing budget at 25 million.
